Would you like to make an almost lifesize humpback whale on the ceiling of a fortress built in 1901?

That was pretty much my briefing for this project. So I said yes, I would like that very much. It’s the largest piece I ever made and in one of the coolest and creepiest places too.

The fortress was completely renovated and re-imagined by Serge Schoemaker Architects.
The part where I made the whale would be a fish restaurant a few months later.
